The library offers a book club that meets generally on the second Wednesday of each month at the meeting room in the Harrimans building which also houses the library. Books are provided to read each month for those participating

It is open to all and even if you don’t get the monthly book read, there is always an engaging and educational discussion.

Each year the week before Mothers Day, the library has offered hanging baskets to the community from top greenhouses outside our area. This fund raiser has benefited the community and the library. Look for posters for specific hours and days upcoming.

Coming in May, the library will be offering plants and hanging baskets for sale from the Schmaltz Greenhouse in Anamoose.  These quality  plants are our annual fund raising event and provide beauty to Maddock and homes for the whole summer.  Starting  Wednesday, May 10 the shop across from the city offices will be open Monday through Friday and Saturday, May 13 to make sure you get your Mothers Day flowers.

 

 

The North Dakota State Library awarded the Maddock Community Library the 2017 North Dakota Star Library Award for going above and beyond with the service they provide to their community. Maddock Community Library was compared to other libraries in North Dakota with similar operating expenditures. They ranked in the top three libraries of their category. The awards were given based on circulation, central branch service hours, program attendance, combined computer and WiFi usage, and the percentage of North Dakota Library Coordinating Council Standards for Public Libraries met.

 

Once again Maddock Community Library has been recognized as a Star Library for 2018. We are so grateful for the community that supports and uses our community resources.

The Maddock Community Library has is located in the renovated Opera House on Central Ave. We share the first floor with Harriman’s Coffee House and the Harriman Restaurant in the evening. Come check out all we have to offer.

     

Storytime is Thursday morning at 10 AM and open to preschoolers and their parents but welcome to all ages of kids. We have a fun time reading and talking and enjoying activities, crafts and snacks. Join us.  Give me your email to keep you updated on schedules.
